Here’s a sample of snacks you can have when doing my Spring Renewal Cleanse program I am rolling out for you in May. I am here to debunk the myth that you have to take pills, drink juices, powders, shakes and pretty much starve yourself to do an efficient cleanse/detox and lose weight. Who wants to sign up for that?! Not me
Our bodies are of divine design. Our hearts never miss a beat, the lungs never forget to breath and guess what? Our bodies detoxify and cleanse themselves naturally through the liver, kidneys and skin. We are so much a part of nature that our bodies naturally know this is the time to cleanse and use our own fat for fuel to get us ready for the warmer months. Pretty cool huh
Come Spring time our liver comes out to play and clean house and our job is to assist it with whole foods, not powders and pills. Got to love marketing and trying to reinvent the wheel. Nature gives us the food we need to get ready for each season.
Yes you eat on my cleanse. By eating real foods that naturally assist your bodies naturally cleansing abilities you will help cleanse out the toxins that build up in your fats cells, release unwanted weight, have energy through your day that you have been craving and a radiant glow to your skin. Sweet Pea Dip with Basil
2 cups green peas
1 cup spinach
1 to 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil or macadamia nut oil
¼ cup fresh basil leaves
1 garlic clove (or more, I use 3-4 cloves)
1 teaspoon sea salt
BLEND. Place all your ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings accordingly
2 cups ground flaxseed (you can buy it pre-ground or grind whole seeds in a coffee grinder)
½ cup flaxseeds (whole)
1 cup water (start with ¾ cup and add more as needed to make a workable dough)
½-1 teaspoon sea salt
½-1 teaspoon garlic powder
½-1 teaspoon onion powder
1 heaping tablespoon rosemary, chopped
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix until an even dough forms. Spread evenly onto a parchment lined baking sheet – about ⅛-¼ inch thick.
Gently cut dough into squares on the baking sheet (you just need to score the dough so it snaps after it’s baked). Bake for 20-30 minutes until crisp and edges are browned but not burnt.
Once you get the basics of these down you can always experiment with different spices. It’s all about flavor and nourishment
